The present invention provides a rotary wing rotor comprising a hub (2) composed of a monolithic body (14) of a composite material obtained by stacking a continuous layer of carbon fiber fabric squeezed in a high temperature with sprayed thermoplastic resin. The hub (2) is provided with a branch (9) which comprises a strength member (12) which supports each corresponding branch (9) radially and through which the respective blades are mounted via a hinge system. The strength member 12 is constructed such that when the rotor is set to rotate at a predetermined operating speed the radial thrust sheet 16 for allowing the strength member 12 to bear the branch 9 is provided with a cylindrical bearing surface (13), the radial thrust sheet having a shape complementary to the cylindrical bearing surface of the corresponding strength member (12).
