A demosaicking method based on Taylor series and adaptive weight selection according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of: (a) interpolating missing green pixel values based on the weighted average of the green pixel values of four directions estimated using a second order approximation of the Taylor series; (b) refining the green pixel values; and (c) estimating missing red and blue pixel values at blue and red pixel positions and estimating missing red and blue pixel values at a green pixel position. In the second approximation of the Taylor series, a second derivative of the green pixel value is calculated based on the average of two second derivatives of the red and blue pixel values. Accordingly, the present invention can avoid wrong direction selection and achieve high efficiency.
