The present invention relates to a method for producing a thermoplastic fiber composite material comprising a thermoplastic molding compound A, a reinforcing fiber B and optionally at least one additive C as polymer matrix M. The method comprises the steps of: i) providing a sheet-like structure F consisting of i) a reinforcing fiber B treated with a silane size, ii) providing a thermoplastic molding compound A comprising at least 0.3 mol% of a chemically reactive functional group based on component A Iii) the chemical reactor in the thermoplastic molding compound A in the polymer matrix M is reacted with a polar group on the surface of the treated reinforcing fiber B, iv) at least one additive C is combined and v) cooling . This method is particularly suitable for producing fiber composites.
