Provided are a method and system for sharing and exchanging information on private parking spaces in a city. The method comprises: a parking space providing terminal (5) setting and publishing parking space sharing information to a sharing platform (6), and triggering an intelligent parking space lock (8) to lock, the parking space sharing information comprising a parking space location and a share period (S3); a parking space requesting terminal (7) acquiring parking space sharing information within a preset range to form a parking space sharing information set (S4); the parking space requesting terminal (7) selecting, from the parking space sharing information set, a parking space corresponding to the parking space sharing information, and setting a time to leave the parking space (S5); and if the time to leave the parking space set by the parking space requesting terminal (7) is within the share period, triggering the intelligent parking space lock (8) to unlock (S6). The method enables sharing of private parking spaces in a city, thereby increasing utilization rates of parking spaces.
