Manual device for perineal re-education or for preparation of the perineum for labour, by massage, comprising an elongate body (2) of an overall cylindrical shape, with a central part (4) forming a grip zone between a first end part (3) and a second end part (5), - said first end part (3) having a rounded shape with a ribbed surface and being able to be positioned in a massage zone situated close to, at the entry of or within the vaginal cavity of a user, - said second end part (5) having at least one recess (11) for receiving at least one finger of the user in order to position and guide said device in the direction of the massage zone, characterized in that the central part (4) forming the grip zone is of reduced diameter compared to the ends of said body of the device, and in that the second end part (5) has the shape of a Y, the space between the branches of the Y constituting said recess (11) and the zone for supporting the guiding finger.
