The present invention relates to a VR video playing system based on a network television, comprising: a VR helmet used for receiving a VR video transmitted by a set-top box and sending an action request to the set-top box; the set-top box used for receiving an operating instruction from a user and sending a request instruction to an EPG network module; the EPG network module used for receiving the request instruction sent by the set-top box and responding thereto; a CDN network module used for storing the VR video and providing a playback code stream of the VR video to the set-top box; a network television intermediate module used for managing the content of the VR video; and a content management module used for uploading or deleting the VR video. Also disclosed is a VR game playing system based on a network television, and a set-top box. By connecting a VR helmet to a set-top box and obtaining a VR video program using the set-top box, the problem of use space limitation due to the need of connecting the VR helmet to a computer is solved.
