An exception prompting method for a tourist planning route, comprising: after receiving a tourist route planning request, carrying tourist parameters, sent by a user terminal, calculating tourist spot traveling routes corresponding to tourist time periods according to the tourist parameters, and feeding the tourist spot traveling routes back to the user terminal (S10); when current time falls within a tourist time period, obtaining positioning data from the user terminal, and storing association data between the positioning data and positioning time (S20); establishing a positioning route corresponding to the positioning data according to the sequence of the positioning time, and calculating similarity between a tourist spot traveling route corresponding to the tourist time period and the positioning route (S30); if the similarity is less than preset similarity, generating an exception identifier for the tourist spot traveling route, and/or sending route pushing exception prompting information to a pre-determined terminal (S40). Also disclosed is a planning server. The entire solution is able to give a prompt about an exception of a tourist spot traveling route to a user in time.
