A thermal analysis method for motors having a temperature field and a thermal circuit directly coupled thereto, some components of the motor being modeled by adopting a finite element method and the other components being modeled by means of a thermal circuit method. The temperature field and the thermal circuit are related by an equivalent temperature boundary and an equivalent convection boundary. When solved, the thermal circuit part is regarded as being composed of one-dimensional finite element units, and boundaries of two kinds of connections are regarded as two kinds of boundary units. Finally, the element stiffness matrix, element load matrix and element mass matrix corresponding to the one-dimensional finite element unit and the boundary unit are respectively superimposed on an overall stiffness matrix, an overall load matrix and an overall mass matrix, and temperature distributions in the temperature field and the thermal circuit are simultaneously calculated by a method of solving an overall linear equations. The method combines the advantages of the finite element method and the thermal circuit method in motor thermal analysis, which can not only ensure sufficient calculation accuracy, but also can significantly improve calculation speed.
