The present patent of invention relates to a metal alloy composition based on zirconium (Zr) having enhanced mechanical properties and very high resistance to corrosion and embrittlement, that is used to form the structural part of nuclear reactor components and the lining of nuclear fuel elements, characterized in that it has the following chemical composition in percent by weight: 0.8–1% Nb, 0.2–0.3% Mo, and 0.3–0.6% Sn, with Zr making up the remainder.
