An ear protection (33) to be fastened to a protective helmet (30),particularly forforestry workers, is described. The ear protection (33) comprises two earprotectors(34a, 34b) each of which comprises a fork-like supporting bracket (37a, 37b)comprisingear protection capsule (35a, 35b) pivotably supported thereon and a rotaryplate connected to the supporting bracket (37a, 37b) by a tilting joint inrelation towhich the supporting bracket (37a, 37b) can be bistably tilted into anextended andinto a retracted position. The rotary plate is rotatably supported in areceiving part(80a, 80b) attached to the helmet (30). A yoke spring disposed between therotaryplate and the supporting bracket (37a, 37b) pre-stresses the supportingbracket(37a, 37b) to abut on stoppers defining the extended and the retractedposition ofthe supporting bracket. The receiving part (80a, 80b) is attached to theinside of thehelmet (30). The ear protectors (34a, 34b) are therefore rotatable into aparkingposition within the helmet.
