Composition for pharmaceutical use having antioxidant activity against free radicals, comprising: a) a seed extract, or seed and leaf, of Vitis vinifera, which contains a combination of the catechin and quercetin flavonoids in a molar ratio in a range of 6 : 1 to 3: 1, respectively, or a ') a seed extract, or seed and leaf, of Vitis vinifera, which contains a combination of the catechin and quercetin flavonoids in a molar ratio in a range of 7: 1 to 4 : 1, respectively, or a '') a mixture of extracts of Vitis vinifera a) and a '), or a' '') a mixture of catechin and quercetin in a molar ratio in a range of 7: 1 to 3: 1, respectively, together with b) an olive leaf extract, Olea europaea L., with a hydroxytyrosol content between 1% and 30% by weight of the extract, or b ') hydroxytyrosol in an amount equal to contained in extract b).
