A composition comprising a combination of omega 3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) for use in improving the efficacy of chemotherapy or radiotherapy and / or in preventing or reducing side effects caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy in a patient suffering from cancer, the composition should be administered to the patient parenterally only 48 to 24 hours before the beginning of a cycle of chemotherapy or radiotherapy, the composition containing 1.0 g / 100 mL a 7.0 g / 100 mL of EPA and 1.0 g / 100 mL to 7.0 g / 100 mL of DHA.
