A method for diagnosing if a pregnant subject is at risk of developing preeclampsia within a short period of time comprising: a) determining the amounts of tyrosine biomarkers kinase soluble fms-1 (sFlt-1) or endoglin and factor placental growth (PlGF) in a first and a second sample of said subject, wherein said first sample has been obtained before said second sample; b) calculating a first ratio from said amounts of sFlt-1 or PlGF endoglin and determined in the first sample and a second ratio from said amounts of sFlt-1 or PlGF endoglin and determined in the second sample; c) comparing the value of said first and said second ratio, whereby it is diagnosed that a subject is at risk of developing preeclampsia within a short period of time if the value of the second reason is increased compared to the value the first reason a factor of at least 3 ± 20%.
