Pharmaceutical composition comprising: a. 50 mg or less of diclofenac or a pharmaceutically acceptable diclofenac sa e b. hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HPβCD); for use in the treatment of moderate to severe postoperative pain assessed using a visual analog scale (VAS), resulting from orthopedic surgery in a mammal with hepatic or renal impairment, in which the composition is intended for parenteral administration, in for which moderate to severe pain is pain intensity = 50 mm on a 1-100 mm VAS.
