The method relates to execution of mining work in difficult mine-geological conditions in the active wall face of a deep mine, especially drilling work. It consists in performing mining work with a tool mounted on a support leg that is moved, during the working cycle, over the track of a shearer loader on a wall conveyor. At the time of the shearer loader passing, the leg and the tool are mechanically lifted up and pulled into the area of the perambulatory field in the mechanized reinforcement section. After the shearer loader passing, it is brought back to the working position on the conveyor. The machine for performing mining work in the active face wall has the double-acting hydraulic leg (2) with a support equipped with a tool fastening system. The leg is fastened in the saddle (2a) on the travel (1) located disconnectably in the travel track of the shearer loader (5). The upper end of the leg has the bracket (2e) for attaching the unit to the mechanized reinforcement for lifting up. At the lower end of the leg, there is the connecting piece (2b) for connecting to the actuating mechanism (6) attached to the canopy (8) of the mechanized reinforcement. The tool support is formed by the drilling table (2f) connected to the leg by means of a friction disc clutch, and the hydraulic drilling assembly (3) is attached to this table.
