The present invention relates to a radio-opaque marker having high density, unique shape and appropriate size. The marker is more radio-opaque and hence is more clearly visible. The marker is uniform and larger in size (3.5-4.5 X 3.5-4.5 mm) as compared to prior arts, which are ring shaped and about 1 mm x 4.5 mm in size. The protocol for investigation is different and quicker for the current indigenous markers. This has an advantage by reducing the time for the test and making the diagnosis more quickly. Moreover, the sensitivity and specificity of this protocol using current indigenous marker is as high as 95% and 100%, respectively to diagnose slow colon transit and fecal evacuation disorder causing constipation in spite of a shorter duration of the test.
