The present invention relates to a device for facilitating the positioning of a catheter for administering a liquid medicament to a spontaneously breathing patient. The method and system according to the preferred embodiments of the present invention allows the administration of such drugs to be optimized. In particular, the system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention enables an exogenous pulmonary surfactant to be administered to preterm patients.
