independent rising and hydrate inhibiting column systems and equipment; and methods for producing fluid from an underwater source, for installing underwater marine independent rising column based system and to inhibit hydrate formation therein. An independent ascension column system connects an underwater source to a surface structure. The system includes an independent, concentric ascension column comprising internal and external ascension columns defining a ring therebetween. the lower end of the riser column is fluidly coupled to the underwater source via a lower riser column assembly (1ra) and one or more subsea flexible channels. an upper end of the riser is connected to a buoyancy assembly and the surface structure by means of an upper riser assembly (ura) and one or more upper flexible channels, the riser also being mechanically connected to a buoyancy assembly that applies higher tension to the lift column. The riser may be insulated for flow assurance, either by a flow assurance fluid in the ring, insulation outside the external riser, or both. The system may include a hydrate inhibition system and / or an underwater dispersing system. The surface structure can be dynamically positioned.
