PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase of a negative cache and a traffic amount when receiving a DNS query which cannot be recognized by an authority DNS server.SOLUTION: When a domain name included in a received DNS query does not conform to a format capable of recognition by the authority DNS server device, the authority DNS server device discards the DNS query packet without replying to the DNS query. Also, the authority DNS server device extracts an IP address of the transmission source of the discarded packet. The authority DNS server device transmits a substitution query request, destined to the extracted IP address, to inquire a domain name which belongs to the management zone of the authority DNS server device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
