PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acute cardiac failure model of small animals, usable for evaluating a novel therapeutic medicine of acute cardiac failure, to provide a method for evaluating an acute cardiac failure therapeutic medicine, using the same, and to provide a method for making the acute cardiac failure model.SOLUTION: An acute cardiac failure model is made by administering an infusion solution, an adrenaline 1-receptor stimulant, and angiotensin II to a small animal such as a rabbit. Acute cardiac failure accompanied with pulmonary edema is caused in the small animal by raising a blood pressure by the adrenaline 1-receptor stimulant and angiotensin II while increasing a body fluid volume by the infusion solution, and adding a preload and an afterload adjusted in an adequate balance.
