PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that efficiently evaluates, designs or manufactures optical films.SOLUTION: A feature information preparation device comprises: a Fourier transformation unit 23B that calculates a first spectrum distribution of image data corresponding to an image having a prescribed image reflected; a relative spectrum distribution preparation unit 23C that computes a ratio of a reference second spectrum distribution and the first spectrum distribution to calculate a relative spectrum distribution; and a feature information creation unit 23D that calculates an average of a plurality of spectra relative to the same spatial frequency in the relative spectrum distribution, approximates a reflection feature by an expression (1) when a change in the average relative to the spatial frequency is defined as the reflection feature, determines parameters &rgr;,&rgr;,μand &sgr;in the expression (1), and thereby creates a function &rgr;as information for evaluating the reflection feature. In the expression (1), r denotes the spatial frequency.
