PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a palatalized doubled consonant determination apparatus capable of suitably determining the sound which is changed to a palatalized consonant or a doubled consonant in the reading of word phrases which are expressed without distinguishing between palatalized consonants and doubled consonants and single-kana sounds.SOLUTION: A palatalized doubled consonant determination apparatus comprises: a candidate detection unit (11) for detecting a candidate for reading of each kanji character contained in word phrases expressed in notation data, with reference to a single kanji dictionary; a palatalized doubled consonant candidate extraction unit (12) for extracting as a palatalized doubled consonant candidate the sounds which may become a doubled consonant or a palatalized consonant contained in a row of sounds which may contain a doubled consonant or a palatalized consonant in a reading of word phrases notated in reading data expressed without distinguishing between palatalized consonants and doubled consonants and single-kana sounds; an association part (13) for determining, for each of the kanji characters contained in the word phrase, the candidate for reading which most closely match the reading of the word phrase and specifying the portion of the reading of the word phrase corresponding to the determined candidate for reading as the reading of the kanji character; and a determination unit (14) for determining whether or not a palatalized doubled consonant candidate is a palatalized consonant or a doubled consonant, depending on the position of the palatalized doubled consonant candidate in the reading of the kanji character associated with the palatalized doubled consonant candidate and the phonetic type of the kanji character.
