PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an increase of an inrush current regardless of a number of option units.SOLUTION: A facsimile apparatus is mounted with one paper feed unit or more having a side close to a printing unit as an upper side. Each paper feed unit comprises: a voltage reception section receiving supply of a driving voltage from a main body section or an upper paper feed unit; a voltage supply section supplying the voltage to the voltage reception section of a lower paper feed unit; a motor driven on the basis of the voltage supplied to the voltage reception section; a notification input section input with a notification signal from the main body section or the upper paper feed unit; a notification output section outputting the voltage supplied from the voltage reception section to the motor as a notification signal to the notification input section of the lower paper feed unit; and a controller starting the supply of the voltage from the voltage reception section to the motor in response to an excess of the voltage of the notification signal input by the notification input section over a predetermined threshold value.
