PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method that is simple and can give a product having high purity without requiring complicated purification, as a method for producing a dicarboxylic acid monoester that has a cyclic structure useful for production of a liquid crystal compound or the like, and a carboxyl group and an oxycarbonyl group directly substituted in the cyclic structure, from a dicarboxylic acid corresponding to the dicarboxylic acid monoester.SOLUTION: The production method includes isolation of a dicarboxylic acid monoester as an amine salt from an esterification product of a dicarboxylic acid having a cyclic structure and two carboxyl groups directly substituted in the cyclic structure. The present invention also provides a dicarboxylic acid monoester amine salt obtained as a production intermediate in the above production method, and a production method of a liquid crystal compound using the dicarboxylic acid monoester obtained by the above method.SELECTED DRAWING: None
