PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a quantity of sunshine to be accurately calculated without inviting increase in the quantity of arithmetic operation.SOLUTION: A sunshine quantity calculating apparatus 1 comprises: a 3D model acquiring unit 2 that acquires a 3D model of a periphery of a place where a sunshine quantity is to be calculated; a route information acquiring unit 3 that acquires route information on the periphery of the place; a main route information extracting unit 4 that acquires main route information including a plurality of representative points out of the route information acquired by the route information acquiring unit; a sky map generating unit 5 that generates a two-dimensional sky map imaging an image of the whole sky at each of the plurality of representative points; a representative point sunshine quantity calculating unit 6 that calculates a representative point sunshine quantity representing a sunshine quantity each representative point on the basis of the sky map at each representative point for each of the plurality of representative points; and a route sunshine quantity calculating unit 7 that calculates the sunshine quantity on each route linking two adjoining representative points out of the plurality of representative points on the basis of the representative point sunshine quantity at each of the plurality of representative points.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
