PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle driver assistance method for a vehicle having an improved function of processing a shielded sensor field of view.SOLUTION: A vehicle driver assistance method is comprised of: the steps of acquiring sensor data about a vehicle environment from a sensor; generating an environmental representation based on the acquired sensor data; and predicting at least one behavior of a vehicle. The method is comprised of: identifying at least one area within an environment of the vehicle where a reliability of the sensor data is below a threshold value or no sensor data is obtained; and generating at least one pseudo-traffic entity adapted to interact with at least one predicted behavior of the vehicle within at least one of the identified areas. A risk measure for each combination of at least one simulated traffic entity and the vehicle's expected behavior is calculated; the calculated risk measure is evaluated; and a control action for the vehicle is executed based on the evaluated risk measure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
