PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new technology that is effective for controlling pests such as cabbage moth damaging agricultural and horticultural crops, the technology that is available regardless of areas.SOLUTION: A method is provided for preventing the flying and coming of cabbage moth pests to agricultural and horticultural crop cultivation fields and/or facilities using noise. The method comprises applying the noise being an associated wave where the acoustic parameters of the noise for inhibiting the movement of the cabbage moth pests are the parameters shown in (a) to (b) to the agricultural and horticultural crop cultivation fields and/or facilities, and thereby inhibiting the flying movement of adults of the cabbage moth pests. The parameters are (a) a pulse length of 1-200 ms, (b) the interval between the pulses (length of a static range between the pulses) of 5-400 ms, (c) constituent frequency of 10-100 kHz, and (d) sound pressure of 60 dB SPL or more (measured distance of 50 cm; 0 dB SPL=20 μPa), where the noise represents a sound generated by series of a random value.SELECTED DRAWING: None
