PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally assisted magnetic recording head gimbal assembly with an actuator mounted thereon and a hard disk drive.SOLUTION: A thermally assisted magnetic recording head gimbal assembly 10 includes a light source part 30, a thermally assisted magnetic recording head suspension 40, an actuator 50, and a slider. The light source part includes a light emitting element 32 and a sub mount 31. The suspension includes a load beam 42 and a bent part 41 operatively connected to the load beam. The actuator is connected so as to be deformable to the bent part. The slider is supported by the suspension and is connected to the bent part and the light source part. The slider includes a thermally assisted magnetic recording head. First and second solder or conductive adhesive is formed such that the first solder or conductive adhesive connects a sub-mount to a wiring that supplies power and the second solder or conductive adhesive 72 connects the light emitting element to the wiring so that it is positioned on the long side of both sides of the light source part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
