The invention relates to a method for detecting and communicating weather warnings by means of a base station and at least one weather station making it possible to check 24 hours a day the weather conditions for several kilometers around. A weather station is equipped with probes to periodically measure, day and night, at least 2 parameters relating to the weather conditions: ambient air temperature, ground temperature, hygrometry, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, wind speed and direction. A weather station is located according to the terrain up to 10 kilometers from its base station. Each weather station has an autonomous rechargeable power supply by solar panel, a geolocation by GPS, a calibration device of the probes. Periodically over the air, each weather station communicates in particular its time stamped measurements, and its geolocation to the base station. The base station records the received measurements, and determines whether the conditions for occurrence of a previously configured alert are met. In case of alert a notification message is pushed to at least one smartphone. The base station is connected to the internet, and embeds a website that allows the configuration, administration and retrieval of the measurement history. The device and the method according to the invention is particularly intended to prevent a grower a few hours in advance, the likely appearance of freeze in his vineyard.
