The device (5) of the detection of a vanishing point (f) on a reservoir (2) of the vehicle (1), comprising a first sensor (15), a sensor (17) of pressure, a means for injecting air into the reservoir (2), a computer (10) which is programmed to execute the instructions for injecting a constant air flow rate in the reservoir (2), so as to increase its internal pressure; - of the stopping of the air injection means, when the detection of the ultrasound; - of the comparison of the internal pressure of the reservoir (2) to a threshold pressure and to send a signal of the presence of a vanishing point (f), if the pressure in the reservoir (2) is less than the threshold pressure, and, if the ultrasound have been detected, or - of the comparison of a detection time of the ultrasound to a reference time corresponding to a leak of reference and to send a signal of the presence of a vanishing point (f), if the time of detection of the ultrasound is greater than the reference time.
