Test device for testing the strength of a welded connection, through which a ball, in particular a metal ball to another component, in particular on a metal component, is welded on, wherein the testing device has the following components:• a sleeve-like component,• a gripping element, which is displaceable in the sleeve-like component is arranged, at one end of the gripper element a gripper is provided, which is provided for this purpose, the ball in an undercut area in an interlocking manner behind, wherein the gripping element in a range of a section facing away from the gripper has an internal thread,• a draw spindle, which has an external thread, wherein the external thread in the internal thread of the gripper element is screwed, wherein by rotation of the draw spindle a pulling force on the gripping element can be applied which, in the form of a test force for testing of the welded joint can be used.
