The present invention relates to a method for the analysis of a functional area (3) of a workpiece. The method comprises the steps of i) of placing a function of material (7) in a functional area (3) of at least one first component (2), ii) receiving an ir - heat image of the functional area (3) and iii) evaluation of the ir - heat image by means of the analysis of the spatial arrangement of the function of material (7).
