The invention relates to a method for designing a keyway profile of a device provided with multiple rollers for the transmission of wave motions, comprising the steps of: (a) dividing the radial displacement extent and the rotation path in the circumferential direction of a roller (2) between the cam (1) and of the keyway (30) according to a unit time is proportional to the same, in order to the number of centers of the circles and tangentially points of the track circles of the roller (2) during the movement of the roller (2); (b) connecting the tangentially points with a line, in order to a one-sided edge profile (31a) between the tooth tip and the bottom of the tooth on a key groove (30); and (c) forming a flanks profile (31b) of the corresponding side by way of a symmetrical reflecting a einseitgen flanks profile (31a) with the center line of the tooth gullet. The present invention further provides a method for forming a cam profile according to a radial displacement extent and a rotation distance in the circumferential direction, in comparison to conventional devices for the transmission of having to increase the accuracy of the transmission of force.
