A system for locating one or more healthcare workers in a healthcare facility, each person having at least one identification device (12) with a unique signal identifier, the system comprising: a wireless proximity sensor (14) located in the facility of Can recognize the health care signal identifier; a monitoring unit (16) monitoring the proximity sensor by monitoring which signal identifier has been detected by the proximity sensor, the monitoring unit generating a data signal indicative of which signal identifier was detected by the proximity sensor; and a data output unit (18) separately coupled to and receiving from the monitoring unit (16) the data signal, the data output unit (18) configured to generate and display real-time location data based on the data signal; wherein the proximity sensor (14) also detects, in real time, a non-location-related signal from a signaling device; where non-location related data is presented along with the location data; and wherein the non-localized data is selected from a group consisting of calendar information (32) and ready information (26).
