The present invention relates to a technique for reducing a time required for reading a meter by appropriately setting communications conditions between a data concentration device and a power line communications modem according to a power line communications environment when the data concentration device reads an electronic watt-hour meter located at a remote place through power line communications in a low voltage remote meter reading system (AMI). To this end, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the number of power line communications modems communicating simultaneously is appropriately set according to an environment of the power line communications and an electronic watt-hour meter is read through the power line communications modems. According to another embodiment of the present invention, a communications sequence is set according to the number of watt-hour meters connected to the power line communications modems, and the electronic watt-hour meter is read through corresponding power line communications modems according to the communications sequence.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
