The present invention relates to an artificial limestone production method and limestone produced by the same and, more particularly, to an artificial limestone production method and artificial limestone produced by the artificial limestone production method in which coarse red clay is contained during the manufacturing and thus effects of the red clay can be effectively exhibited, the coarse red clay adds to aesthetic effects, and the produced artificial limestone is improved in terms of strength because a strength-improving member is contained during the manufacturing. The artificial limestone production method according to the present invention includes: a red clay chip production step in which red clay chips are formed by red clay powder becoming coarse; a hydration step in which cement is hydrated by being mixed with water; a limestone raw material production step in which a limestone raw material is generated by the hydrated cement being mixed with the red clay chips; a limestone molding step in which the limestone raw material and the strength-improving member are put into a mold after a release agent is applied to the mold and molding is performed by compression and pressurization; and a curing step in which the molded article molded in the molding step is cured for artificial stone production.
