A designing method for determining the diameter of a neck of a prosthesis for femoral head, comprises the following steps: choosing a movement range parameter, and choosing design variables of a prosthesis; modeling the prosthesis; calculating a movement range and stress in the modeled prosthesis; choosing a neck diameter for femoral head, as a finite element affecting the movement range and stress among the design variables; determining a target function of the neck diameter for femoral head by using the movement range and stress; and determining the neck diameter for femoral head from the target function, which maximizes the movement range and minimizes the stress.
