A temperature predicting apparatus comprises an average data output unit, a change amount output unit, a luminance output unit, a temperature sensor, and a current temperature output unit. The average data output unit outputs average data of image data displayed on a display panel. The change amount output unit extracts a change amount of the average data and outputs an average data change amount. The luminance output unit converts the average data change amount into luminance and outputs the luminance. The temperature sensor senses an ambient temperature of the display panel and outputs the ambient temperature. The current temperature output unit stores a previous temperature of the display panel, and predicts a current temperature of the display panel based on the previous temperature, the luminance, and the ambient temperature to output the current temperature. As a result, the temperature of a transparent display panel can be predicted, and the number of temperature sensors used to predict the temperature of the display panel can be reduced.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
