The present invention provides a method for measuring a sensory preference for food in which a 3-point preference test and a same-different test are combined with each other, which provides a test method in which the 3-point preference test and the same-different test are combined with each other based on the result of an experiment including: a first step in which testers are divided at random into Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 that have the same number of testers; a second step in which Group 1 sequentially executes a 2-point preference test, the 3-point preference test following the same-different test, and the same-different test following the 3-point preference test, Group 2 sequentially executes the 2-point preference test, the same-different test following the 3-point preference test, and the 3-point preference test following the same-different test, Group 3 sequentially executes the 3-point preference test following the same-different test, the same-different test following the 3-point preference test, and the 2-point preference test, and Group 4 sequentially executes the same-different test following the 3-point preference test, the 3-point preference test following the same-different test, and the 2-point preference test; a third step in which a d estimate is drawn with a theoretical sensory/preference measurement model and based on the Thurstonian modeling/signal detection theory (SDT) so that the same-different test and the 3-point preference test of the second step are analyzed; and a fourth step in which sensory difference discrimination power and sensory preference comparison and analysis are performed by the d estimate being used.
