The present invention relates to single crystal conductive silicon particles coated with highly conductive carbon containing micropores and a metal thin film, to a negative electrode active material comprising the same for a high capacity secondary battery, and to a preparation method thereof. The negative electrode active material comprises: single crystal conductive silicon particles doped with at least one element selected among group 3 (III) and group 5 (V) elements; a metal thin film coated on the surface of the single crystal conductive silicon particles; and a highly conductive carbon coating layer stacked and coated on the metal thin film. Micropores can be formed between the single crystal conductive silicon particles and the carbon coating layer.
