The present invention relates to a method for recognizing a driving behavior of a driver by linguistically modeling the same and a system for performing the method. The method comprises: a region of interest setting step of dividing a region where a driver stares; a data collecting and converting step of collecting driving behavior data; a pre-processing step of dividing the collected data by each driving behavior of the driver; a machine learning step of representing the divided data by using a grammar for each driving behavior; a test step of recognizing and describing the driving behavior as independent test data to measure an effect of a machine learning resu and a step of warning the driver or controlling a vehicle by determining the driving behavior when actually driving by using a safe driving grammar generated through the steps.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
