摘要

A dynamically reconfigurable battery framework for managing large-scale battery systems is provided. The framework monitors, reconfigures and controls large-scale battery systems online. A topology-based bypassing mechanism that provides a set of rules for changing the battery pack structure, and a semantic bypassing mechanism that is reconfigured to restore the battery cell connection to the failure of the battery cell. In particular, the Semantic Bypass Mechanism implements the constant-voltage-retention policy and the voltage-tolerance policy. The former policy is useful in preventing unavoidable voltage drops during battery life, and the latter policy is useful for providing different amounts of power to meet a wide range of application requirements.
