摘要

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a functional health food comprising Cryptomeria japonica extract as an effective component for preventing or treating thrombosis, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition and a functional health food for preventing or treating thrombosis comprising, as an effective component, a hot water or an ethanol extract of Cryptomeria japonica heartwood and/or stems, and particularly, an organic solvent fraction obtained from sequentially fractioning the extract with an organic solvent, and residual materials thereof in water, and a mixture thereof. The extract of Cryptomeria japonica, as an effective component of the pharmaceutical composition and the functional health food for preventing and treating thrombosis, as shown in Examples of the present specification, shows potent antithrombotic activity due to inhibitory effects on human thrombin which plays a critical role in the formation of thrombus and blood clotting factors, and can thus be used beneficially for preventing and treating thrombosis such as hemorrhagic stroke and ischemic stroke by improving blood circulation. Particularly, the extract of Cryptomeria japonica of the present invention does not show acute oral toxicity, has excellent heat stability, and does not show a decrease in antithrombotic activity and inhibitory effect on enzymes (thrombin) related to the formation of thrombus. Therefore, the extract of the present invention can be formulated in various and easily ingestible forms such as extracts, powders, tablets, and pills, and can thus be used beneficially in the pharmaceutical industry and food industry.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
