Provided are a method of replacing a bridge support while structurally safely supporting an upper load of a bridge by a lifting apparatus formed with a means for pulling and supporting a vertical load caused by an upper structure of a bridge and a means for supporting the upper structure of a bridge by converting a vertical load into a horizontal load, and a method of installing a new reinforcing structure on a lower structure of a bridge when a space under the upper structure is so low that it is difficult because a bridge is newly installed and then constructing a bridge support on an upper portion of the reinforcing structure by the lifting apparatus. The lifting apparatus of the present invention comprises a load supporting unit supporting an upper load by converting the upper load into a horizontal load and a vertical load after an upper structure is pulled by a hydraulic jack when an upper structure of a bridge is pulled. The load supporting unit includes an inclination supporting means for supporting an upper portion to correspond to a pulling height, and a vertical supporting means for structurally safely supporting a lower portion, and thus the upper structure of a bridge can be supported by the hydraulic jack and the load supporting unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
