A system is provided that provides the user with an opportunity to deduce information about the user and provide (e.g., confirm or deny) input to the inferred information. The inferred information is only displayed to the user until a specific triggering event has occurred. For example, a sensitive inferred information item can be displayed to a user only when the user reaches a certain stage, presumed to correspond to displaying such sensitive information, in relation to the system, device or service. As another example, the inferred information item may be displayed to the user only after it is determined that the inferred information item is highly likely to be modified to have a certain reliability. As another example, sensitivity and confidence levels may be used to guide when a particular inferred information item is displayed to a user.
