Provided are a short-circuit-anomaly detection device for LED lighting system, an LED lighting device having this same device, and a short-circuit-anomaly detection method for LED lighting system, the short-circuit anomaly detection device being capable of accurately detecting a short-circuit anomaly in an LED unit having a plurality of LEDs connected in series.When a power supply unit (2) and a lighting device main body (1) are connected via a connection cord (3) supplying power from the power supply unit (2) to the lighting device main body (1), this short-circuit-anomaly detection device causes an LED unit (10) to light-up in a predetermined lit-up state for reference measurement, constructs reference data based on the electrical potential at a first position and the electrical potential at a second position, and, during the operation of the LED lighting system, compares with the reference data the electrical potentials at the first and the second positions or the difference between these two electrical potentials, thereby detecting a short-circuit in one or a plurality of LEDs (11) from the LED unit (10).
