Disclosed are a smart watch-based smart home control method and a smart watch. The method comprises: detecting whether a smart watch has entered a sensing range of a smart home (S11); if the smart watch has entered the sensing range of the smart home, detecting whether the smart watch has established a wireless connection with the smart home (S12); if the smart watch has established the wireless connection with the smart home, enabling a smart home control function of the smart watch (S13); and in the smart home control function, recognizing, by the smart watch, a gesture of a user, and according to the gesture, controlling the smart home to switch via the wireless connection a current operation condition (S14). In this way, the invention enables control of the smart home by using the smart watch to recognize a gesture of the user, thus meeting requirements of the user.
