摘要

A computer-implemented method for determining effective elastic properties of a sample of a porous medium includes the selection of some sub-volumes in the volume of a sample of a porous medium. The sample is scanned and the obtained three dimensional digital image of the sample is used for creating three dimensional digital representations of the selected sub- volumes of the sample. The initial set of the representative volume element (RVE) is selected from the created digital representation of every sub-volume. The calculations of porosity are fulfilled for every selected RVEs and obtained values are compared with the value of porosity for the sample. If the values are the same or have the small relative difference, these RVEs are used for creation of numerical models and further application of the Direct Homogenization method for definition of effective elastic properties for every selected RVE. If the value of porosity is not the same or the relative difference in values of porosity for RVE and the sample is higher than defined value, the volume of the RVE must be increased via re-selection of RVE's volume in digital representation of sub-volume of the sample. The process may be repeated several times for every initially defined RVE until is meeting the requirements about porosity. The finally defined RVE for every case is used for definition of effective elastic properties.
