A method and a system of image block-based matching and searching, and a video processing device. Said method comprises the following steps: acquiring a target image block, and determining, according to the target image block, search points of a search range; calculating absolute differences of the search points, calculating static absolute deviations of neighboring search points, and performing normalization processing, so as to obtain a sum of the normalized static absolute deviations; and determining the smallest search point position among the absolute differences of all the search points and the sum of the normalized static absolute deviations of neighboring search points, and using the smallest search point position as a matched position. Comparing, by means of calculation, the absolute differences of the search points and the sum of the normalized static absolute deviations of the the neighboring search points so as to determining the matched position decreases the amount of block error calculation, saving the memory access time, and improving the matching and searching efficiency of image blocks.
