This invention discloses a method and relevant devices to achieve rapid waterrelease from maturefine tailings (MFT) in oil sands tailings pond, including a method for fluidtailings intake, treatment,and discharge, and relevant devices to do the said operations. All theseoperations are done in afloating platform that is moving in designed patterns that cover most surfacearea of the tailingspond, various treatment systems that are connected to the floating platformand installed at differentlevels to treat the fluid tailings in different tailings layers. The inventionalso discloses variousalternatives to further enhance the water release from tailings pond, speed upthe reclamation oftailings pond, as well as carbon dioxide capture in tailings pond.
